On June 9, 2023, the “High-Quality Financial Support for China-Australia Economic, Trade and Investment Cooperation Seminar” hosted by the Financial Industry Committee of the China Chamber of Commerce in Australia (CCCA) was successfully held in Sydney by the Sydney Branch of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China. The main leaders of the member units of the Financial Industry Committee attended the meeting, and Chen Min, Secretary-General of CCCA, and Fan Shilei, Chief Representative of the South Pacific Representative Office of the People’s Bank of China, attended as special guests.
ICBC Sydney Branch hosted the seminar. Chen Jianyu, Chairman of the Financial Industry Committee and General Manager of ICBC Sydney Branch, shared the recent development of China-Australia economic and trade relations, as well as relevant research data and trend analysis of Chinese companies’ investment in Australia. Representatives of other institutions participating in the meeting held in-depth discussions on topics such as measures, opportunities and challenges of financial support for China-Australia economic and trade exchanges, and development ideas for the steady operation of overseas institutions. The atmosphere was warm. The delegates unanimously stated that while achieving their own healthy development, Chinese financial institutions in Australia should also comply with the demands of the Chinese and Australian business communities for enhancing mutual trust and cooperation, continue to work hand in hand, keep up with the financial service needs of Chinese “going out” customers and local customers, play a good role as a bridge and link and their respective resource endowments, and make greater contributions to high-quality support and promotion of China-Australia economic and trade exchanges and investment and financing cooperation.
