On the afternoon of August 3, 2022, 2022 China Chamber of Commerce in Australia Sydney Branch Committee Annual Meeting was held as webinar. The Chinese Consul General (Ambassador) in Sydney, Zhou Limin, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. The Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Consulate General Ye Wei attended the meeting. 27 people including all directors, authorized representatives and secretariat staff of the Sydney branch attended the meeting.

Consul General Zhou Limin highly praised the positive contribution made by the Sydney branch to promote the healthy and stable development of China-Australia economic and trade relations. It is hoped that the Sydney Branch, under the leadership of the General Chamber, will continue to make friends, expand its influence, improve its capabilities, and play a greater role in serving the development of enterprises and promoting Sino-Australian economic and trade cooperation. Consul General Zhou Limin said that the Chinese Consulate General in Sydney will, as always, support the work of the Sydney branch, support the business development of Chinese-funded enterprises in Australia, and provide assistance and services.

Mr. Chen Zheyu, President of CCCA and Sydney Branch, made a report on the work of the branch in the past three years. The various industry/professional committees also conducted work summaries and reported the work plans for the second half of the year.

According to the agenda of the meeting, Ms. Ren Li, President and General Representative of Bank of China Sydney Branch, was elected as the president of Sydney Branch and nominated as the next president of CCCA. Ms. Lu Ping, General Manager of China Eastern Airlines Australia Marketing Center, was elected as the Vice President. Mr. Chen Min, chief representative of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in Australia, served as the secretary-general.

Ms. Ren Li, the newly elected president of the Sydney branch, said in her speech that she thanked all the governing units for their trust in Bank of China Sydney Branch, and she will live up to the trust and fully promote the work of CCCA Sydney branch.

In his concluding remarks, Counselor Ye Wei of the Chinese Consulate General in Sydney affirmed the contributions made by the previous president of the Sydney branch and congratulated the new president on her election. Counselor Ye Wei pointed out that he hoped that all Chinese-funded enterprises will continue to do a good job in epidemic prevention and control, and pay close attention to safe production. Continue to innovate service and expand the external influence of the branch. He emphasized that all Chinese-funded enterprises will effectively balance the development and safety, strengthen compliance operations, and carry out various business work legitimately.

The webinar of the Sydney Branch Committee meeting successfully completed all the scheduled agendas. In the future, the Sydney branch will, under the new leadership and with all directors, unite as one, serve the members of CCCA, build the brand of CCCA, and make greater contributions to deepening the bilateral economic and trade relations between China and Australia.
