On the afternoon of December 3, 2021, China Chamber of Commerce (CCCA) National Committee Meeting was successfully held through a video conference.

A total of more than 40 people including the presidents of CCCA state branches, executive directors, directors, and authorized representatives attended the meeting. Ye Wei, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Consulate General in Sydney, and the heads of the commercial organizations of every state attended the meeting.

Consul General Zhou Limin fully affirmed the work carried out by CCCA in the past year in terms of self-construction, communication, epidemic control, compliance operations, and member services, and encouraged CCCA to continue to strengthen compliance operations, proactively mitigate risks, and continue the good job in epidemic prevention and control. Consul General Zhou Limin said that the Consulate General in Sydney will continue to actively support the business development of Chinese-funded enterprises in Australia, safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese-funded enterprises, strive for a fair, transparent and non-discriminatory investment and business environment for enterprises.

During the meeting, President Chen Zheyu summarized the work of CCCA in 2021, and reported 2022 work plan to National Committee. Mr Chen said that in 2021, CCCA achieved fruitful results in implementing epidemic control, promoting economic and trade cooperation, innovating member services, and compliance. As an active participant and promoter of China-Australia economic and trade cooperation, CCCA has played an important role in deepening exchanges and cooperation between the business areas of two countries and enhancing mutual understanding between the governments and peoples of the two countries. Finally, Mr Chen emphasized that the Chamber of Commerce in 2022 will continue to take creating value, promoting economic development, and strengthening the understanding and exchanges between Chinese and Australian enterprises as its mission, and strive to add new opportunities to deepen Sino-Australian friendship and promote Sino-Australian exchanges and cooperation.

Industrial committees such as Legal and Compliance Committee, Financial Industry Committee, National Energy Commission, Aviation Committee, Women Leadership Committee, and Foreign Relations Committee also summarized 2021 work and reported plans for the next year. King & Wood Mallesons, the legal advisor of CCCA, then made a summary of the legal compliance work.

The meeting also voted and approved the personnel changes of some committee units in Australia, the chairman of the industry committee, the secretary-general of CCCA, and the vice-president of the branch.

Finally, Counselor Ye Wei of the Consulate General in Sydney made a concluding speech. Counselor Ye hopes that all committee units will continue the good job in epidemic prevention and control, and pay close attention to safe working. Also, strengthen compliance on various business tasks. Finally, he suggested that all Chinese-funded enterprises should guide positive public opinion and improving the image of CCCA and enterprises.

This online meeting successfully completed all scheduled agendas. In 2022, under the leadership of all directors, CCCA will unite and continue to make contributions to deepening the bilateral economic and trade relations between China and Australia and make progress on the brand effect of CCCA.
