On the afternoon of November 20th 2020, China Chamber of Commerce in Australia (CCCA) held 2020 annual committee meeting through video presentation. The Chinese Consul General in Sydney, Zhou limin attended the meeting and delivered a speech. The Acting Chinese Consul General in Perth, Jin qian, the Economic and Commercial Consul of the Consulate-General in Sydney, Wang Long and representatives of the economic and commercial organizations of the consulates in Australia attended the meeting. President of CCCA, Chen Zheyu, Honorary President, Chen Huaiyu, presidents of branches, executive directors, directors and some members of Australia participated in the meeting.

Consul General Zhou Limin first affirmed that CCCA overcame the pandemic in 2020 and pioneered the commercial efforts, and expressed his gratitude to CCCA for its positive contributions to China-Australia economic and trade relations and the promotion of bilateral economic and trade development. Consul General Zhou pointed out that under the current complicated international situation, the Chinese economy has shown strong momentum and full resilience, which fully demonstrates the superiority of the Chinese system. China has proposed to build a new development pattern centering on internal circulation with the domestic and international markets promoting each other and will unswervingly expand opening up in an all-round way. He hopes that CCCA will continue to strengthen capacity building, strengthen member services, guide Chinese-funded enterprises to operate in compliance with laws and regulations, and do a good job in the prevention and control of the current pandemic, continuously enhance the influence of CCCA, and continue to play an important role in promoting the healthy and stable development of China-Australia relations.

President Chen Zheyu introduced the work of CCCA in 2020 and the plan for 2021 to the committee. Representatives from Melbourne Branch, Brisbane Branch, Perth Branch, Adelaide Branch, Legal and Compliance Committee, Financial Industry Committee, National Energy Commission, Aviation Committee, Association of Women Entrepreneurs, Council of Foreign Relations summarized the work and reported the work plan for next year. Executive committee members listened carefully to the work report and the work plan for 2021, and put forward pertinent opinions and suggestions.

The meeting voted various matters which include the personnel change of committee members and industry committees, adding and exiting committee members.

The meeting successfully completed scheduled agendas and pointed out the direction for the work of CCCA in 2021. All directors and members will further unite and cooperate, overcome difficulties, and continue to strengthen CCCA’s influence and safeguard the rights and interests of Chinese enterprises.
