On the evening of November 28, China National Symphony Orchestra performed beautifully at the Sydney Opera House, and the audience was packed with seats. This is the first stop of the China National Symphony Orchestra’s return tour to Australia for six years. CCCA Sydney Branch organized more than 100 member representatives and their families to watch the first concert.

Music crosses borders and cultures build bridges, which cannot be achieved without the support and promotion of all parties. At the opening ceremony of the first performance at the Sydney Opera House on the evening, Xiao Xiayong, Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Australia, Yu Jie, Deputy Consul General of the Chinese Consulate General in Sydney, Wang Shuyu, Cultural Counselor, Zhou Yu, Secretary of the China National Symphony Orchestra, Professor Anna Reid, Head of School and Dean, Sydney Conservatorium of Music and CEO Feng Dunping, Aofeng Culture attended and delivered speeches. Nearly 100 people from Australia’s local art world, business community, academia, representatives of Sydney branch member companies, and overseas Chinese in Australia attended the opening ceremony. Bank of China Sydney Branch actively supports Sino-Australian cultural exchanges and provided chief sponsorship support for the entire China Diplomatic Australia tour.

At the concert, the famous conductor Li Xincao gracefully danced the baton in his hand, sometimes passionately, sometimes soothingly, leading the musicians of the entire China National Symphony Orchestra to perform brilliantly the “Yao Dance” with a strong Chinese ethnic style, and the famous Chinese Violin Concerto at home and abroad. Classic Chinese and Western repertoire such as “Butterfly Lovers” and Beethoven’s magnificent and passionate “Symphony No. 7 in A major”.

That night, in the concert hall of the Sydney Opera House, Chinese and Western music blended together in a wonderful way. Violinist Lu Siqing presented the classic “Butterfly Lovers” to the audience. He had superb skills, full of emotion, and melodious piano sound that made the listeners cry and be intoxicated. The more than 2,000 Australian audiences present were deeply touched by the beauty of the music, and unanimously gave bursts of applause.

Members of the Sydney branch said that they had an unforgettable time watching the China National Symphony Orchestra concert live, enjoying China’s high-level music and art performances, and feeling the beauty of Chinese and Western music.

CCCA Sydney Branch will continue to actively organize members to participate in China-Australia cultural exchange activities, enrich the spare time life of branch members, and allow members to appreciate the charm of Chinese culture and art and appreciate the beauty of cultural exchanges between China and Australia.
