On December 3, China Chamber of Commerce Australia (CCCA)  Brisbane branch successfully held its 2025 Annual General Meeting. Yang Chenqi, Deputy Consul General of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Brisbane, and Consuls Dong Yubin and Chen Xiaoxiao attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Xia Wenzhe, Vice President of Brisbane branch.

Deputy Consul General Yang Chenqi delivered a speech

In his speech, Deputy Consul General Yang Chenqi fully affirmed the positive role played by the Chapter in uniting Chinese-funded enterprises in Brisbane and promoting pragmatic cooperation and people-to-people friendship between China and Brisbane. He also congratulated the newly elected council. He hoped that the Chamber of Commerce would continue to play its role as a bridge and link, seize opportunities, and make greater contributions to promoting bilateral relations and local cooperation. Deputy Consul General Yang also expressed his special gratitude to the Chamber of Commerce for its help and support during the recent visit of the delegation of the National People’s Congress of China to Australia.

President Tong Xinmiao delivered a report

President Tong Xinmiao first delivered the annual work report, comprehensively summarizing the achievements of the branch in promoting Sino-Australian economic and trade cooperation, serving member enterprises, building exchange platforms, and fulfilling social responsibilities over the past year. He also analyzed the current situation and future challenges, and outlined key tasks for 2026. The report was reviewed and unanimously approved by all delegates.

In accordance with the articles of association, the congress successfully completed the election of the new council. The proposed list of the new council, president, and vice presidents was approved by a show of hands from the delegates present.

An awards and certificate presentation ceremony was held during the meeting. President Tong Xinmiao presented membership certificates to new member companies, Deputy Consul General Yang Chenqi presented awards to outstanding member companies, and Vice President Lin Rensen presented honorary certificates to outstanding employees.

During the council’s Q&A session, members actively offered suggestions and jointly planned the future development of the chamber of commerce.

Speech by President Gao Zhen

In her inaugural address, newly elected President Gao Zhen expressed her gratitude to the Consulate General, the Chamber of Commerce, and all members for their trust. She stated that the new council will continue to uphold the Chamber’s mission, closely unite members, focus on improving service levels, integrating resource advantages, and promoting innovative development, striving to build a more cohesive, influential, and proactive cooperation platform, and ushering in a new era for the Brisbane branch’s development.

This conference marks a new stage of development for the Brisbane branch. Under the leadership of the new council, the branch will continue to play a positive role in deepening Sino-Australian economic, trade, and cultural exchanges, supporting member companies’ development in Australia, and further strengthening internal connections to enhance the Chamber’s overall influence in the region.
