To further deepen the long-standing and important partnership between Queensland and China in trade, investment and cultural exchange, the Australia China Business Council Queensland Branch (ACBC QLD) and China Chamber of Commerce in Australia Brisbane Branch (CCCA Brisbane Branch) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Brisbane on September 22, 2025. Dr. Ruan Zongze, Consul General of the Chinese Consulate General in Brisbane, Mr. Steve Abbott, Chairman of ACBC Queensland, and Tong Xinmiao, President of CCCA Brisbane Branch, attended the signing ceremony.

Both sides agreed that continued strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation between Queensland and China is crucial. The signed memorandum jointly identifies key priority areas for cooperation and outlines a series of diverse avenues for collaboration. This will undoubtedly foster closer interaction and exchange between members of both sides and promote more practical cooperation outcomes.

After the signing of the memorandum, representatives of the governing bodies of both sides also held in-depth discussions on opportunities for China-Queensland economic, trade, and investment cooperation, as well as the prospects for collaboration between the two platforms.
