On October 10, 2025, China Chamber of Commerce in Australia (CCCA) Sydney Branch successfully held its 2025 Annual General Meeting and Dinner in Sydney. Over 160 people attended the event, including Consul General Wang Yu of the Chinese Consulate General in Sydney, the President, Board members, members of the CCCA Sydney Branch, and guests from local business associations. The dinner was hosted by Ma Lei, Secretary-General of the CCCA Sydney Branch.
Consul General Wang Yu delivered a keynote speech at the event. He stated that this year we have jointly witnessed the second decade of the China-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and jointly celebrated the 10th anniversary of the entry into force of the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement. In July of this year, Prime Minister Albanese successfully visited China, and the leaders of the two countries reached important consensus on promoting the continued development of China-Australia relations. New South Wales has always been at the forefront of cooperation with China, and the CCCA Sydney Branch has long made outstanding contributions to promoting economic and trade exchanges between the Chinese and New South Wales business communities. We should seize the opportunity to translate the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries into concrete actions, continue to play the role of the CCCA as a bridge and link, and promote new achievements in cooperation in various fields.
Ms Zhi Qiaoling, Chairperson of the Australia China Business Council (ACBC) New South Wales Chapter, stated that CCCA is an extremely important partner of the ACBC. The two sides have long maintained close communication and cooperation across multiple projects and at the regional chapter level, working tirelessly toward the common goal of promoting China-Australia economic and trade cooperation. The current positive development of China-Australia relations has created new opportunities for bilateral economic and trade cooperation. She expressed her hope that the two sides will further strengthen communication and interaction in the future to promote the continued improvement of bilateral economic and trade relations.
Mr Li Mang, President of CCCA and Sydney Branch and President of the Bank of China Sydney Branch, expressed his sincere gratitude for the long-term strong support provided to the CCCA. He noted that under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both China and Australia, China-Australia economic and trade relations have continued to deepen and upgrade, the complementary advantages of the two economies have continued to emerge, and the space for cooperation has continued to expand. The Sydney Branch currently has over 200 member companies, making it one of the largest and most dynamic branches of the CCCA. Sydney Branch is committed to helping Chinese companies gain a deeper understanding of the opportunities, policies, and business environment in the Australian market, building bridges for communication and cooperation, and actively promoting practical cooperation between the two countries in areas such as trade, investment, technology, and talent exchange. We look forward to Chinese and Australian companies working together to seize opportunities and jointly promote sustainable and high-quality development.
The dinner was held in a warm and harmonious atmosphere. The committee and members of CCCA Sydney Branch will continue to work together in unity and forge ahead, contributing further to the healthy and stable development of China-Australia economic and trade relations.
