On May 2, 2019, the first Australia Energy & Mining Conference and dinner party hosted by China Chamber of Commerce in Australia (CCCA) National Energy Commission was held in Brisbane, Queensland. About 120 representatives from the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Brisbane, member companies of CCCA, Australian Energy Associations and enterprises attended the event. The Australia Energy & Mining Conference was hosted by National Energy Commission of CCCA, and jointly organized by ShineWing Australia and Bank of China Brisbane Branch. The conference aims to exchange experiences and lessons in the production and operation of energy and mining enterprises, analyze the development prospects of the China-Australia energy industry and strengthen communication with relevant industry associations. Bank of China and ShineWing Australia, as co-organizers and gold sponsors, fully supported the conference.

Mr. Lan Yuqiang, the Chinese business consul in Brisbane, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Consul Lan Yuqiang said that the China-Australia energy mining industry is highly complementary. Investment opportunities and challenges coexist in Australia’s energy mining industry. In the evening, Australia Energy & Mining Conference and dinner party was held in Brisbane City Hall. Dr. Xu Jie, Consul General of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Brisbane delivered a keynote speech. In his speech, Consul General Xu Jie expressed warm welcome to the representatives of the energy mining enterprises and all other guests and congratulated the success of 2019 Australia Energy & Mining Conference. Consul General Xu Jie pointed out that China-Australia cooperation in the field of energy and resources has become an important part of the China-Australia economic partnership. The rapid development of China-Queensland investment cooperation not only promotes economic growth and employment in Queensland, but also plays an important role in promoting sustainable energy supply in China. The conference provides a very good opportunity for Australian energy companies to exchange ideas and share experiences.
